In collaboration with Galerie Blue Velvet and within the official framework of Zurich Art Weekend, Villa Nomad hosted the exhibition FANATICS II by Swiss artist Julian-Jakob Kneer.
The presentation transformed the Villa Nomad space into a site-specific extension of Kneer’s ongoing inquiry into cultural mythologies and the aesthetics of belief, blurring the lines between shrine and crime scene, kitsch and critique. This marked the second chapter of his acclaimed FANATICS series and positioned Villa Nomad as a vibrant satellite for contemporary artistic discourse during a key moment in the Swiss art calendar.

THE OUTCOME
The exhibition FANATICS II unfolded in a series of meticulously curated vitrines installed throughout Villa Nomad, each merging devotional aesthetics with forensic precision.
Kneer’s displays drew on fandom culture, pop detritus, and ideological symbols, inviting emotional and critical interpretation. The launch weekend included a private performance by BLACKHAINE, intensifying the work’s themes of cultural projection, disruption, and affect.
Throughout its run from 14 June to 26 July, the exhibition remained open by appointment, reinforcing the sense of exclusivity and intimacy. The partnership with Blue Velvet and Eigenmann Collection anchored the project within a network of curatorial excellence, while Villa Nomad’s space offered a distinctly atmospheric platform for Kneer’s provocative artistic language.
